Welcome to the SSDA Sector Skills Matrix, the single most comprehensive source of sectoral labour market and skills information for the UK.
The Sector Skills Matrix uses official data sources to provide comparable data for 27 industry categories and 14 more aggregate sector groupings. It also provides the same range of data for Sector Skills Councils (SSCs).
A process of sector integration is taking place in the Skills for Business network where sectors currently outside the network are agreeing coverage by a SSC. As yet the information presented here does not reflect these changes. Once integration is complete across the network the SSC SIC footprints in the Matrix will be updated.
Whilst covering the UK as a whole, breaks for England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the English regions are also examined. The Matrix also allows the benchmarking of some indicators internationally, with information available for the EU-25 countries.
The Sector Skills Matrix offers users:
- Downloadable sector and SSC labour market databases;
- Dynamic data query functionality;
- Relevant links to other websites and publications;
- Discussion around key skills and labour market issues; and
- Up-to-the-minute news stories.
